KRIGOVSKY

Ján and Paula, a married duo with university optometry education from Olomouc (Czechia), bring rare skill and a steady focus to a small town Poprad (Slovakia) where eye exams too often fall to non-specialist shop staff. To cut through the blur, they asked BOLDHUMAN for a brand that feels warm, clear and human.

As much as we love working with big international brands, we also love supporting local entrepreneurship. The story of Krigovský is one of homecoming and a desire to bring high-quality optometry to their local community. We set out to build an identity that stands out yet feels familiar. With a memorable mark, a calm palette, relaxed typography, and playful illustrations by David Pogran, we managed to turn precision into warmth.

What if eye care felt like a story you recognize? We placed David Pogran’s beautiful illustrations at the heart of the brand identity to create a gentle bridge between clinical precision and human feeling. Woven into signage, print, web, and motion, every touchpoint remains personal, calm, and warmly precise.

A minimal, memorable mark with a hidden letter K in the shape of an eye helps the brand stay clear on who its clients are while making it recognizable. At first glance, the seemingly simple mark is built on the basic physics of vision: the image lands inverted, and the brain resolves it upright. It reads instantly at any size, works in a single color, and gives the practice a unique, unmistakable signature in a saturated market.

Ján and Paula’s superpower lies in the way they make each customer feel. Through the care, attention, and time they give, people feel as if this optometry exists just for them. The space says “you’re safe”, not “buy now”. In a town full of optical stores, Ján and Paula chose to focus on relentless care—and made their personalities their strength. To create an optical store we ourselves would want to visit, all we had to do was design a visual language that supports and amplifies these characteristics.

The launch party capped our five-month collaboration. Supporters, friends, and family gathered to celebrate a big milestone for Ján and Paula. Kids were everywhere—drawing and coloring David’s illustrations—while guests enjoyed great coffee, snacks, and tried on glasses. If you’re nearby, drop in and get your eyes examined for free. We wish Ján and Paula every success in building what we believe is Poprad’s most beautiful optical shop.

Studio Boldhuman, a huge thank you for creating the visual identity for our family-owned optometry. From the very beginning of our collaboration, we knew we made the right choice.
